Buffy on the Big Screen

Could it get any better than that? Once More With Feeling, baby.

We had a good time at the Buffy Sing-A-Long a couple weeks ago. We ate some pretty good popcorn and watched everyone's favorite Buffy musical episode, after some ok and some lame preshow. One couple was pretty funny with their remake of the Morning After with Buffy and Angel scene, so that was entertaining, but then we had to watch it again with a really horrible couple.

Oh well, all in good fun. Overall it was good times and I'd do it again!

Michele is a good sport, doing her best to have a good time amongst Buffylovers who delight in the world that is Buffy.

6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon

and/or 6 Degrees of My Geekidom.

So Dave and I were talking about the whole 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon theory as we were watching Step Up last Wed night. Yup, Step Up. And so we decided to try it. I had played it in the past with my sister as we would drive from Pocatello to my parents house. We were pretty good at it, but we'd take fairly obvious people. And back in the day, I'd actually start by coming up with someone I knew he had been in a movie with, and then taking it out 6 steps from there to see who the most odd or random person I could link him too. So anyway, Dave gave me the main gal from Step Up Jenna Dewan and it took me until last night to finally link her to Kevin Bacon. I had been able to link the main guy from Step Up, Channing Tatum within 6 degrees, but not Jenna. So I finally just went ahead and cheated. I looked her up on imbd to see what else, if anything, she had been in. I honestly expected it to show only Step Up - I thought this must be her first movie based on her incredible acting skills (insert sarcastic roll of eyes here) but I was wrong. Luckily for me, she was also in Take the Lead (another movie about dancing - coincidence? Make up your mind: actor or dancer!!!!!! - I'm going with great dancer, bad actor). Anyway, the point is, she was in another movie. And that, my friends, gives her a Bacon number of 2.

Another show of my geekiness when it comes to Kevin Bacon and his 6 degrees is that I wikipedia'd the game/concept/theory of the 6 Degrees. And it turns out there are quite a few websites devoted to it, my favorite being The Oracle of Bacon which does all the work for you!

Anyway, just wanted to share that with everyone.
